Movie #3: Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure

Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure is an excellent 80s comedy movie. It's about two dudes, who are about to flunk their high school history class and to prevent them from doing so (because of the impact on the future of the entire world) a guy from the future comes to let them use his bodacious phone booth time machine so that they can learn about history from the real deal - from Napolean to Joan of Arc to Abraham Lincoln. It's a fun movie. I saw it as a kid and it still makes me laugh now. Party on, dudes!

Now, I could have made a time machine and gone back in time to see a bunch of cool old dudes, but well, I decided to go the Keanu route this time. A young Keanu Reeves plays Ted (of Bill & Ted, don't know what happened to Bill). What is the Keanu Route? Well, the theory is that his acting is the same in all of his movies (and Keanu, btw, I like you and so don't care), so anyway, my thought is that I can choose any of them to make a blog post about regardless of the Keanu movie I watch. So, this time I chose Point Break...and to commemorate it into my life, I went to see Point Break Live! at a local theater.

Whaaaaaaaaaat? Yes, that is correct. They have turned the movie Point Break into a live interactive theatrical production. The cool thing is...they choose Johnny Utah (Keanu's part) from the audience...and he reads his lines from cue cards held by another actor. And, there's also a lot of interactivity...like fake blood, water, actors running up to you and telling you to hit the ground because this is a bank robbery. All in good fun, of course!

That was before all the water and fake blood started spraying. Although, with that cap gun, my guy got to participate in the goings on and play a cop. Coolness. Great interactive play. I highly recommend it. Just make sure you wear a poncho. You really get messy. Blood and water everywhere.
