Movie #6: The Jerk
The Jerk
with Steve Martin is one of those movies that I've heard about for forever and never seen. I knew it was Steve Martin's first feature film and I love a lot of his 80s comedies, but I'd never gotten around to it. And, it is pretty funny. It's a screwball comedy - sort of a rags to riches deal, but totally ridiculous. I mean, Steve Martin, at the beginning is from an all black family (of course later we find out he was left on the doorstep - and his response to this, by the way, is hilarious - you mean I'm going to stay this color?)
